I didn’t see much of

by Warren

I didn’t see much of Kerry’s big speech yesterday at the Democratic National Convention, but what I did see was pretty impressive. I still think he’s a bit of a flip-floppy vote follower, which by the way is about the only time myself and the current Republican posse will agree on anything. Still, between his and Edward’s addresses, the Democrats swung this one out of the park. I doubt the momentum (if there is any) will last until November, but at least they didn’t torpedo themselves prematurely..

Oh, also, Kerry’s daughters are hot. 🙂

Here’s an account from some

by Warren

Here’s an account from some guy who had dinner at Bill Gates’ house. The Bill’s place sounds pretty cool, though that’s not particularly surprising seeing as how he’s the richest guy in the world and can afford to have libraries with Da Vinci sketches and whatnot. That, by the way, is the one part that makes me insanely jealous. If I was a zillionaire I’d probably have me the Best Library Ever.

If his place reflected the quality of his software, random, filthy bums would have shown up during the dinner and propositioned the guests for Nigerian scams, and various rooms in the house would randomly spontaneously combust. But I guess that’s too much to hope for.

Arrrggh! I’m having a hell

by Warren

Arrrggh! I’m having a hell of a time keeping the site updated, thanks to a combination of a lot of work, a screwy schedule, lack of inspiration and probably a fair bit of burn-out. So my apologies to all of you. I’ll try to come up with some good dribble-drabble soon.

by Warren

I’m fundamentally lazy, as well

by Warren

I’m fundamentally lazy, as well has having the programming skill of a mollusk. But I’d like to spitball a few ideas around on features I’d like to see (but haven’t yet) on websites:

-Why isn’t there a “Billboard Top 10” for all the independent tunes posted on the web? You could make it like Blogdex, see which tunes are being downloaded the most and then rank them accordingly. Of course, a lot of bloggers arfe mopey poseurs, so you might get a surfeit of emo crap.

-I’d like to see a program/website that emails or otherwise notifies me when the torrents for shows I want to see come out, or better yet, downloads them straight to my drive. You could call it “Torrentivo” or something equally unimaginative.

-I’ve often thought that Edmonton and Vancouver need snarky websites a la Gawker‘s take on New York. Granted, nothing interesting happens in those two cities in comparison to the Big Apple, but hey, a man can dream, right?

that’s it for now, but if you have any ideas for sites you haven’t seen but would like to, fire away in the discussion forum…

I want…

I don’t know what Salon does to convince Alan Moore to talk to them, but hey, I’m grateful. If you ever deign to read comic books, this is the guy to seek out. Buy everything this brotha writes.

I tried to post something

by Warren

I tried to post something twice this morning about Martha Stewart, only
to have Blogger tank on me. Anyway, I guess it all boils down to
“hahahahaha!”

When Martha did the walk up the court steps, I heard some woman scream
“hold your head up high, Martha!”, but all I could think of was the
line from Goodfellas: “see you in Attica, dick.”
