This debate is more than

by Warren

This debate is more than half over, and so far Kerry seems to be a lot more coherent and making some decent points. He even seems to be sticking with short answers intsead of wonking out. But I doubt it matters. Bush will probably be declared the winner because he’s “resolute.”

Bush actually comes off as “how can this guy question me? I’m the President!”, while Kerry has the advantage of not having to answer for four years of nonsense. But like I said, the US is so divided it doesn’t matter.

Plus I don’t really buy any of Kerry’s promises. The guy is a flip-flopper, and runs policy based on polls. But at least he isn’t a religious nut.

update: now it’s completely over. My pick is Kerry, but that’s because I hate freedom. 🙂

The trial of Han Solo in the matter of Greedo shooting first, and Avengers action figure shenanigans.

by Warren

Metal Gear Solid was a fantastic bit of gaming for the original Playstation. I somehow missed the second game by not buying a Playstation 2, but now the third (and supposedly final) chapter in the Snake saga is at hand. Check out this delightfully incoherent Japanese trailer for the goodness (and monkeys.)

by Warren

Ugh. My schedule is starting to cheese me off. It ain’t fun having no time to blog.

Speaking of blogging, the New York Times magazine has a huge article on political bloggers and their coverage of the campaign (name: wfrey, pass:greylady). Some of the blogerati come off as dickheads, while others are just as entertaining as their blogs.

The interesting thing for a greedy guy like me is that some of these guys are making good coin selling ads served by Google. Of course, doing so would require updating more than once a week, and talking about something interesting, two points that aren’t in my favour.

Once again my work schedule

by Warren

Once again my work schedule and exhaustion have conspired to keep me from updating the site. I’ll try to get some pithy insights online by tonight.

by Warren

Many people hate the Yankees, because they buy their way into the World Series, amongst other things. But this sign rocks, no two ways about it.

by Warren

Now here’s a cool (well, alright, neat) idea; take old school MUDs (multi user dungeons) and make ’em playable on a cell phone.

Of course, I’ve got my mobile gaming covered, between retro arcade action on my GBA SP, and Frobnitz for playing old Infocom games on my Palm Pilot.

Akihabara is the technology mecca

by Warren

Akihabara is the technology mecca of Tokyo. There’s a million billion gadgets of all shapes and sizes in the shops there, and each time I’ve been to Japan I’ve paid a visit. It’s like Klondike Days on crack.

Anyway, there’s a site that chronicles the latest electro lunacy at the big A.

Once again the end of

by Warren

Once again the end of the week paper writing crunch has robbed me of posting. Damn you, crunch!

I zipped down to the States for lunch today (only place to get decent Mexican food), and I was struck by how many RVs along the way have satellite dishes. Just how bad do you need TV? Of course, that isn’t as bad as the behemoth RVs towing an SUV behind them, but it’s a little disturbing.

Not that I’m any better. If there was a way to get the Internet no matter where I was, of course I’d go to the same amount of trouble.

By the way, here’s a new P2P program for the Mac that so far has Limewire beat by a country mile. And don’t even get me started on Acquisition, which blows.

by Warren

So Meg Hourihan, one of the founders of Blogger, has (no surprise) a blog. She announced on it the other day that she’s giving up website development as a career and switching to what she really loves, cooking. I decided to send her a letter of support, since I kind of did the same thing by choosing to focus on writing as a career and ditching television.

She liked my email so much she put it on her site. That made me feel pretty good, since I just sent it because I saw someone else going through the same thing I went though (sorta), and figured I kind of owed her since I use her product every day to post my drivel to the masses.
