According to a story in the New York Times, home theatres, DVDs, video games and the Internet are all keeping people from going to the theatre.

I love the movie-going experience, or at least I do when it’s not at a suburban mall full of idiot teenagers, but I can see the article’s points myself. There are less and less movies coming out that I’d deem worthy of tearing myself away from the Xbox/laptop/book and going to see in the theatre, when I can simply rent the DVD (by which I mean ‘download the torrent’) a couple of months down the road.

According to a new report, the main source of calories for the United States is sugary sodas. Man, it’s no surprise North America’s obesity levels are skyrocketing and diabetes is killing us all off. And people worry about bread and pasta making them fat?!?

the above title basically means “promotional video by Google touting their new stuff.” Which, when you think about it, is still pretty interesting.

Apparently the Jobs-man announced recently the next version of iTunes (due in a month or two) will support podcasting. But there’s some question as to whether you’ll be able to grab whatever you want, or if the iTunes Music Store will present a “best of” list of current podcasts, which strikes me as pretty elitist. On the other hand, provided they get the right people to pick and choos e the podcasts, it could mean wading through a lot less crap.
