A clip from the upcoming Sarah Jane Adventures episode Death of the Doctor went out on CBBC earlier today. While Death of the Doctor features Matt Smith, he does not appear in the clip – however Katy Manning is seen in her return as Jo Grant. Enjoy!

BBC America has announced that classic Doctor Who DVD releases, beginning with Meglos in 2011, will be synchronized across all major regions. Whereas in the past months would pass between a UK and North American or Australian/New Zealand release, releases will now come in the same week beginning next year. This will certainly make DVD buyers outside the UK very happy, including those of us at Radio Free Skaro who have, at times, pined for releases available in the UK but not yet available in North America. We very much welcome the change, even if the accelerated Region 1 release schedule means 2011 will be a pricey year for DVDs.

More need for English = more work options for me.
Congratulations to Russell T Davies and friend of the show Phil Ford on their Best Dramatic Presentation – Short Form Hugo award for The Waters of Mars, presented earlier today at Aussiecon 4 in Melbourne. This Hugo is the fourth win for Doctor Who since its revamp in 2005 and the first for any writer other than Steven Moffat. The Waters of Mars was, at least for the Radio Free Skaro gang, the high point of the 2009 Gap Year and we couldn’t be happier it was recognized for its brilliance.
Pretty much describes why I’m looking forward to moving to Japan.
 The Classic Series Commentary series has ended… only to be replaced by the Series 5 Commentary series. (Any more attempts to use the word “series” will likely cause another crack in time, so we’d best stop there.) We’ve given the news segment a bit of time off… something that breaks our fictitious award-loving hearts, but on the upside it means no stats! So sit back, relax and have a listen to The Three Who Rule talk about the glorious opener to Matt Smith’s tenure! |
