This article about Electronic Arts alleges the employees there work like dogs for little reward. Dunno if it's true, though I know a couple of people inside the Fortress of Gaming who could confirm or deny the gist of the piece.

Try working in Japan.... I'd say 60-70 hours a week for maybe $30K starting salary, if you're lucky... of course, once you've been there a few years, the pay does get a lot better for a lot of people...
And some of the "work" after 5 p.m. consists of being there for the team, and not doing much actual work...but still, you're stuck in the office instead of at home with a beer and a video game and/or wife. :)
I think these EA kids need to get a union... you know, you look at something like this... you can't tell me that the Democrats couldn't have picked up a hell of a lot of votes if they were out there busting their asses for fair treatment of young tech workers...
I certainly can tell you that, since young tech workers are by and large clever (at their jobs) but dumb (at everything else...:)) Besides, half the right wing pro-Bush blogs are probably tech workers.
