Film Threat Hollywood smackdown

Film Threat used to be a great, sarcastic magazine dedicated to lampooning Hollywood stupidity and promoting independent movies. It's no longer a magazine , but much like Shift, it lives on in website form. They've put up a list of 50 Hollywood types on their way down the ladder of fame that's good and mean.

Link won't work. But if Ben Affleck isn't on that list I'd be pretty surprised. That guy is box office poison these days.

I actually kinda feel sorry for Affleck... I hated the guy but he has had a few good performances. Saying he'll never do another big-budget action movie would have made me respect him a lot more if he'd done it when he was at his peak though, a la Johnny Depp...

By the way, if he and Jennifer Garner have kids, they'll have the most monstrous chins in the world... :)

Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms!

But seriously, he was very good in Chasing Amy and I'd go as far to say he was almost great in Good Will Hunting, not to mention his part in Dazed and Confused. The guy has chops.

And don't forget the, um, backdoor-action loving nemesis character in "Mall Rats"... :)

Dunno what's going on with that link...it worked fine this morning. But yeah, when Affleck wants to, he can act. He's just made a pile of bad choices that snowballed on him into full blown hatred from movie viewers. If it wasn't him, it'd be someone else.

He should pick up a casting choice or two from his longtime companion Matt Damon, who rarely picks a loser. And both Bourne movies rocked, which is more than I can say for the books.
