I don't dare install that thing. Half the guys at work are hooked and come in each day looking more and more like zombies. All they talk about is which vorpal sword they managed to buy/steal/make. Etc.
The New York Times has an interesting profile on World of Warcraft, the massively multiplayer online RPG that's swept up nerds in an orgy of pixels and monster clubbing.
I haven't played the game myself, but I can personally vouch for its popularity, as I'm currently staying on the couch of an avowed WoW addict. I got up at 6 a.m. this morning, just as he stumbled off to bed after devoting untold hours to virtual quests. :)

Yeah, same here, I see firsthand the ravaging effects of WoW and don't want to duplicate said effects on myself. Plus it's the most expensive MMORPG out there, at something like $20 a month. Bleh.
