Apple might go for Trusted Computing on new Intel machines

Looks like Apple might be tossing some serious DRM at their new Intel-based Macs. I'm of two minds about this; on the one hand, I don't want to shift to Linux, since their user interface is complete crap. And I'm never going back to Windows, as they not only have a terrible UI but will also load up with way worse DRM nonsense. Plus, someone will find a way to circumvent this Trusted Computing hooey. Plus Apple may need DRM to placate the movie studios, and if I can download a movie that's still in the theatre for $5 perfectly legally, I'd probably succumb.

But on general principle, it's kind of a crappy move on Apple's part. I could argue about the ins and outs about it, but Cory Doctorow does a much better job than I could over on Boing Boing.
