I know what people are going ot say, but EP3 should of at least got a nomination for Visual Effects.

The nomination that I am most happy for is cinematography for Batman Brgins, I finally agree on something wioth the Academay. What a beautiful film and some of the best us of light and shadow this year.

I'd agree, Batman Begins had some great visuals...and it really worked in that it was mostly realistic, unlike the previous Batman films. Lord of War also got snubbed for cinematography.. did Constant Gardener get a cinematography nod? Good Night and Good Luck looked great too, though that was more production design. The control room at CBS was right on the money, it was like going back to NAIT again. :)

The New World got a snub on Cinematography too, it had some amazing epic photography going on in it.

Haven't seen Lord of War yet but I just might now.

Lord of War is great, if you're a politics/history/war junkie like me. It's written and directed by the same guy that did Gattaca, another fine bit o' film.

BTW, I'm hoping to have an Oscar party at the media room in my new place. If I can swing wireless connectivity down there, I'll try to set up some sort of real time chat thing, as well as the live comments marathon we did last year. I'll probably fire up some photos on Flickr at the same time, maybe set up the isight for webcam stuff...mixed with booze, this might be trouble! :)
