Nintendo.....Wii?!?!

In a move clearly meant to satiate their bread-and-butter Japanese market, Nintendo has dubbed their next console "the Wii." In my opinion, that's a pretty stupid name, but then I thought the Nintendo DS wasn't such a hot idea, and I was proven wrong. Anyway, if you want an up to date look at what Mario's latest home is going to be like, check this out.

Yeah... the thing is, Nintendo is a global company; they can't market stuff the same way in every market, and the name is potentially going to be a huge impediment to its success in the English-speaking world.

I would have thought they learned their lesson in the 90s when Sega beat the crap out them with their cool advertising gamble in the States... (of course, look at where Sega is now! :) )

BTW, my pet peeve is kanji tattoos... some people don't even care that their tattoos are dead wrong, they just think the shapes are cool.
