Relgious reporter loses faith

I'm firmly in the Dawkins camp, myself, but I found this story by a religion reporter (and former devout Christian) fascinating. It details how the ongoing sex scandal in the Catholic Church shook his beliefs to their core, and as if that wasn't enough, he then started profiling televangelists, further depressing and saddening him. A riveting read.

I agree a fantastic read! oddly enough Fifth estate replayed last night their expose on Benny Hinn (the worst of the lot IMHO) The only positive thing I have from a religious point of view is my wife's uncle who is a Catholic priest. He is the most radical one I have ever met. (officially the church is against gay marriages, but he personally (although he doesn't promote it) would marry them! He also denouces people like Benny Hinn, because they use profit for profit gain event though they say they use it for spreading "the word" I also loved the album cover post!

Hey thanks Tom. Good to hear the man, the myth, the legend TAK is still swingin'. I agree about religion, as my blog probably indicates, though if people are essentially decent it can be a force for good. I had neighbours in Edmonton who were and are devout Christians, and in their case it made them better people and drove them to do good in the world and their immediate surroundings. It ain't my bga, but I won't condemn it outright.

Having said that, rich villains like this Hinn guy and those that think someone is evil because they happen to love someone of the same sex can burn in the hell they so fervently believe in.
