iPod Touch OMGLOLWTFBBQ

So Apple revamped the entire iPod product line today, starting with the newly chunky (and video capable) Nano and ending with the very new, very sexy iPod Touch. The newest high-end iPod does nearly everything the iPhone does except make calls, and it'll do even more once people hack it (as they have done to the iPhone.) W00t!

As I heard the specs coming on, I was overjoyed. WiFi (bonus, didn't quite expect it)! 16 GB (my magic number for storage in an MP3 device)! There's Safari! But no e-mail or instant messaging client. Huh? Aren't those obvious applications to have in such a device? Repetitively logging into webmail to see if I have any new messages isn't an ideal experience. So I'm gonna sit on this one and wait for Apple to address those two small shortcomings.

Jobs and co brought the pain, but I need more than 16gb to make me pay up. Now that all the iCrap is out of the way how about some long overdue pro upgrades! I am sitting on the dough Apple, I want my 8 cores now!

I could go for more than 16GB for storage as for the missing applications on the touch well give it time it will get hacked as fast as the iPhone was.
As for missing apps I want an IRC client.

Besides the lack of Internet clients (e.g. e-mail, IM), the most common complaint is from people who want the iPod Touch with the 160 GB hard drive from the iPod Classic. 16 GB is pretty good for flash memory devices these days. I figure it would cost an extra $100 for each additional 8 GB added to such a device. I would have been happy with an iPod Nano, but those weren't bumped to 16 GB. Given the somewhat fragile nature of the small 1.8" hard drives, I prefer these flash memory device.
