The Times of London reports the Pentagon has drawn up a plan for a three day series of airstrikes designed to obliterate the Iranian military. Of course, coming up with such plans is par for the course for the Pentagon, although apparently in the days after 9/11 no plans for an invasion of Afghanistan were on file. It's also worth noting that this sort of information doesn't generally get out of the Pentagon unless someone within the military (usually of pretty high rank) thinks it's a stupid idea and leaks it to the press, so this is a pretty good indicator that the while the US military will inevitably follow orders and do their job, there's some dissent as to the wisdom of this course of action.
