British Guantanamo Bay inmate spills the beans in the Guardian

This account of life as a prisoner in Guantanamo Bay is pretty harrowing. Bearing in mind the article only shows one side of the story, if what’s said is true, it’s pretty depressing. Shocking it ain’t, given how much we know about Abu Ghraib.

It’s really sad to see America flush its own values down the toilet to “bring freedom to the world.” I’d like to think the violence and desperation in Iraq would put a stop to this nonsense, but the neo-cons are probably drooling over maps of Iran as we speak.
