Recently I was contacted by StudioNow to create an author video for Random House about “The Tiger,” a new book by Vancouver author John Vaillant. It’s an interesting story about a poacher, a Russian game warden/badass and a very smart, very deadly tiger, and the violent maelstrom all three find themselves in while pursuing their own goals. Check out the video below.
Here’s the demo reel for my video production company, Freyburg Media. Just a sampler of the stuff I’ve worked on and the skills I can bring to a corporate video, podcast, or broadcast television segment.
…is the title of my latest article over at Mac | Life. It’s already getting some vigorous debate from Flash defenders and detractors, so join in with your two cents, wouldya?.
More writing from yours truly in the mainstream media, this time in BC Tech. First up, an article about Lambda Solutions, who aim to become the “Ebay of knowledge.” I also wrote a “this season’s hottest gadgets” that unfortunately got a little truncated for the web edition.
I’ve been working as an editor on a video podcast featuring Vancouver Adobe evangalist Duane Nickull called Duane’s World. The show is all about coding, tech, music and Duane’s unique take on the world, and is hosted on Adobe TV, a central hub for shows about all things Adobe. Check it out!
Yes, it’s not all nerdery and Doctor Who round these parts (though mostly, it is). I recently shot and cut a video for the Opus Hotel, one of the tonier establishments in Vancouver, all about their “On the List” party featuring DJ Stonebridge. Check it out at the Opus website.
This January I’ll be going to Macworld for the first time ever, and I’ll finally get to see Uncle Steve’s medicine show in person. Macworld is traditionally when the biggest announcement of the year comes from Apple, though how they’ll top last year’s iPhone roll-out, I have no idea. However, that hasn’t stopped mad internet speculation from frothing up in in anticipation of new Apple goodies. The top contender is a sub-notebook, or possibly a tablet, built around the same technology as the iPhone. We’ll see…now that I’m doing a lot of video work, I’m more interested in upgrades to the Mac Pro than anything else.
Also, keep an eye on Techvibes while I’m at Macworld, because I’ll be blogging for them throughout the week.
