Cell phones using more data than voice
by Warren
According to this article in the New York Times, people are shifting rapidly to less voice, more data on their cell phones. In a few years it seems likely that data use, not minutes will be how your mobile bill gets compiled. Of course in Canada we’ll stay with the old system until it collapses around us. That’s just what we do.

It’s kind of moot for Telus/Bell’s new 3G network because all communications, voice and data, are carried over the same network, if I’ve got it right.
I find it interesting that we are more interested in communicating with other people through sms, twitter, and email than we are with in actually talking with someone. Even if they are in the same room as one another. devices like the iPad will probably replace the cell phone in time.
