Google’s 200-year news archive

It’s not quite up to snuff yet, but Google News can now look back at news from the last 200 years. Most of it seems to hit a paywall, but that’s not Google’s fault. I’m of the opinion that old news should be in the public domain regardless, since it isn’t exactly a hot commodity anymore….but with enough time, Google’s aggregators will sniff out the free stuff anyway.
