Podcasting…

For some reason, I don’t remember saying anything about podcasting on here.
Basically, podcasting is amateur radio cobbled together on home computers, then sent out to the world and pushed onto an mp3 player. That could be complicated, but with programs like IpodderX (there’s a Windows version here), it’s all automated, which makes it pathetically easy. It works by watching RSS feeds for new stuff, then downloading it onto your portable audio device. I listen regularly to Engadget‘s podcast, as well as a show from the BBC. There’s more and more stuff coming out every day, and sooner or later I expect I’ll break down and put one out. It’d be cool if myself and some of the other Freyburg regulars could organize some sort of online audio chatting at a predetermined time and discuss stuff and nonsense. Of course, I’ll have to figure out how to set everything up first.
