Each has had numerous crossover actors however it's important to bear in mind that DW was London-based and Corrie Manchester-based so not all actors would want to make the commute. Heck, look at why Norman Lovett left Red Dwarf... he lived in Edinburgh, they rehearsed in London and filmed in Manchester. That's a lot of miles! DW began in late 1963, Corrie in late 1960.
