Afghan skater documentary Skateistan is worth watching

Afghanistan is a mess, by any measure, but sometimes there are small pockets of hope and cultural innovation. Skateistan, a short documentary, shows one such pocket as it delves into a Kabul skate park and contrasts it with its war-torn surroundings.

Warren Frey is a journalist, freelance writer, podcaster, video producer, and all-around media consultant currently based in Vancouver, Canada. His written work has appeared in such publications as Metro Vancouver, the Westender, Mac | Life and the Japan Times.
