Apple's "fun new products?"

Apple's got some new stuff out tomorrow...top of the rumour list is a 'iPod boombox,' a intel-based mac mini with media centre capabilities, and new iBooks. Any predictions, fellow Macophiles?

Considering the one "fun" area Apple loses out on big time is gaming, I predict the iBox, a mac-based gaming system that comes with a selection of games, including... Photoshop... and.... um... Photoshop?

Ha....macosrumours.com is spewing some drivel about the "gaming iMac." I'll believe it when I see it...and frankly, it's stupid of Apple to try and get into the gaming world. Consoles are a loss, hardware wise, and PCs have pretty much carved up the hardcore gamer market. Hell, if I want to game bad enough I'll just but an Xbox360 or PS3 or whatever.

Apple would be far smarter to market a media centre for the living room...or partner with sony or someone else and incorporate a PS3 or Nintendo or something into an apple product.

Apple tried to get into the gaming world once before. It was called the Pippin and it died before it could get off of the table.

I am going for the boombox, and it better have some pretty cutting ege features that I can't possibly even think of. There are so many good iPod speaker products out there right now.

Pfft. Turns out the new stuff was nothing much. The new mac mini is ok, I guess, but underpowered for what it is. And the iPod Hifi...kind of a whole lotta nothing. Meh.
