Skype's creators jump into video sharing

The brains behind Kazaa and Skype are setting their sights on the ever-growing video sharing space, currently dominated by YouTube and rapidly populating with a plethora of other companies. Not a big deal, right? Well, I'd be inclined to agree, except for the fact that the Venice Project will concentrate on professional and semi-pro media creators, leveraging good production values with the incredible distribution possibilities of the Internet. And it'll be peer-to-peer, eliminating a lot of bandwidth concerns that plague other sites. That's if they can pull it off, of course. Businessweek has all the details.
