I'm but 11 or so minutes in, but wow all this echoing is quite distracting.
After a week's delay due to illness on the part of both myself and Steven, we're back in fighting form with the first part of a retrospective of Christopher Eccleston's lone season as the good Doctor. His reign was the beginning of Who's new era, and we ponder our anticipation prior to the premiere of "Rose," how things have changed for the series as we hurtle towards the premiere of Season 3 (12 days, w00t w00t!), and the usual digressions and balderdash, including a taunting of Podshock and flaunting of our (quite) tenuous connection to the writer of "Dalek." I'm having comment issues again so if this shows up 8 times, oops. =)
Anyway, all I have to contribute for now is my personal rankings for the Eccleston series.
From best to worst:
The Unquiet Dead
The Empty Child
The End of the World
The Doctor Dances
Bad Wolf
Aliens of London
Dalek
Father's Day
Parting of the Ways
The Long Game
Boom Town
World War III
Rose
Do you hear an echo... echo.....echo....
Warren you forgot about the best line in the episode "The End of the World", "Guests are reminded that Platform 1 forbids the use of Weapons, Teleportation, and Religion."
Ha! We did forget that line - I absolutely love it!
Just about finished listening myself, and yes, there is an echo...which can't be helped, as I think it was our VOIP client being weird. Also, I noticed a hum int he background, which was likely my old Powerbook's fan thrashing like mad as it was getting Ubuntu Linux installed, as I recorded the podcast on my new laptop. I'm surprised my tiny Logitech headphone mic picked it up, but. apparently it did.
BTW, the new 20 second trailer has a few new shots from Episode 3, and also states the start date as March 31, if any confirmation be needed.
Windows Media Center is way better than Apple TV by a long shot. Apple needs to catch up with Microsoft on
this one. Windows Media Center has been around for quite a while, even before FrontRow, and it seems that
Apple is just copying it. For now, Windows Media Center is still the best.
Ah, Windows media centre topic is down the hall turn right and then down the stairs, then left, left, left and left again.
Damn, I've only got a few days to plow through the second half of Eccleston's reign before we do the next podcast! Tarnation!
Paul Cornell today on his blog linked a spiffy trailer someone concocted about the time war. It's just old clips and voice tracks but it's still kinda fun.

It's a good thing I don't read the novels, because then I would have had "Human Nature/The Family o' Blood" spoiled for me years ago.
K, is anyone else completely jacked up about Series 3, like I am? I've seen a few brief clips from "Smith and Jones" on various BBC news shows, and, as harmless as the clips are, it is sent me nigh on into squee territory.
Just saw the BSG finale (meh, btw)....so now I'm free todevote my nerdy leanings to the Who. Not super excited yet, but by Saturday I should be a jumpy fool.
