New Apple doodads on the 12th?

by

Rapidly escalating scuttlebutt on the net says that Apple is going to release a 23″ iMac, a movie section on the iTunes Music Store, and some sort of “video streaming” device on September 12. I have my doubts about the streaming video whatsit, but the larger iMac would seem to be a no-brainer.

I’ve been looking at an iMac myself; my Powerbook G4 was great when I was moving all over the place working for small-town papers, and it’s still neat to play World of Warcraft from the couch, but I’ve pretty much settled down for now, and I can get more bang for my buck out of an iMac. Not only does it have a bigger screen and more hard drive space, but it also makes a cheap but powerful video editing workstation, especially when coupled with a second monitor.
