Sad news for you guys…

Peter Haining, author of your childhood Doctor Who bible, suffered a heart attack on Monday and passed away. He was 67.

I am Steven says:

Tragic news, that. At least half of our next podcast will be dedicated to his vast output of literature.

Jean-Paul Samson says:

Dunno if anyone else noticed, but our Billie (Piper, that is) made the front cover of the Edmonton Sun today (Thursday), as well as getting the whole first page of the entertainment section.

Chris Burgess says:

Wow, Billie on an Edmonton front page. Was it for Call Girl? Is Showcase picking it up perhaps? Maybe Bravo?

Chris Burgess says:

Ah ha, good guess on my part. It’s about Call Girl and Showcase is indeed picking it up. That’s quite surprising given it premiered here only a couple months back.

Jean-Paul Samson says:

Not a complete surprise, as Jekyll was picked up only a few months after it aired in England, too.

Oh, and the Friday Edmonton Journal has a Torchwood article in it. As is usual for coverage of a CBC program, it describes it as “the best [insert genre here] show you’re not watching”.

Jean-Paul Samson says:

Here’s the Edmonton Journal Torchwood article, for those interested:
