by

World of Warcraft is the first video game since Pac Man to garner a hugely popular, global following, according to the New York TImes. Nothing in this article is news to a WoW player, but it’sa nice to see the mainstream media run a gaming article that doesn’t revolve around controversy, violence or condescension.

Warren Frey is a journalist, freelance writer, podcaster, video producer, and all-around media consultant currently based in Vancouver, Canada. His written work has appeared in such publications as Metro Vancouver, the Westender, Mac | Life and the Japan Times.
