Looks like our favorite bearded

Looks like our favorite bearded crazy man is back.

I wonder if this latest missive from Bin Laden is a signal to his minions to unleash some pre-election chicanery. I also wondered, while I was reading his screed, why anyone follows this guy. Quite frankly, his rants are confusing, long winded and don’t make a hell of a lot of sense. Of course, I’m a decadent Westerner who grew up in a Judeo-Christian culture, so what do I know? Maybe this stuff is gangbusters in the Middle East, at least among a certain segment of the population. It got 19 people to sacrifice their lives, so Bin Laden obviously knows what’s what in the “convincing the true believer” department.

The other thing that bothers me is that, yes, it’s absolutely terrible that 3000 people died on 9/11. But a report came out just recently that the Americans have killed 100,000 Iraqis (and counting) and somehow that’s not seen as a far worse crime, despite the fact the invasion of Iraq was at root just as pre-emptive as the 9/11 attacks were.
