Oscars 2005

by

The nominees for the 2005 Oscars were announced this morning. I haven’t seen many of the nominees, though I have a few (ahem) stored away and a long plane ride ahead of me, so I’ll at least see “Ray” and “Sideways” before the big party at the end of February.

More importantly, the Razzies were also announced, with Alexander and Catwoman leading the pack. I actually have seen Alexander, though (ahem again) I didn’t pay for it, thank Xvid. Oliver really dropped the ball on his magnum opus, which is unfortunate, because he has made some stellar films in the past. One thing I really liked about the Razzies is that they managed to nominate most of the Bush Cabinet (and Bush’s pet goat!) for awards, thanks to Fahrenheit 9/11.
