The real business of virtual worlds

Businessweek profiles the real money being made inside Second Life, a virtual world that rivals World of Warcraft for the number of people piddling around in its pixels. The Escapist also has a couple of articles that are WoW related, one about the rise of Blizzard from an obscure games publisher to the dominant force in online gaming, and another on what cames after World of Warcraft.

Warren Frey is a journalist, freelance writer, podcaster, video producer, and all-around media consultant currently based in Vancouver, Canada. His written work has appeared in such publications as Metro Vancouver, the Westender, Mac | Life and the Japan Times.
